\nToday, March 18, would have been the birthday of our friend and colleague Do\u011fan Akhanl\u0131. Do\u011fan passed away on October 31 of last year after a serious illness. His life was dedicated to the fight against injustice and to the fine arts. Through his literary work, he gave a voice to a wide variety of marginalized perspectives. He addressed the Armenian Genocide, Germany\u2019s Nazi past, imperialism, colonialism, and the resistance against them. As a result, he had powerful enemies, whom he courageously stood up to, and even more friends who loved him\u2014among whom we count ourselves.

\nAfter 5 years of struggle, countless general assemblies, actions, and events, 3 self-organized residencies, and a lot, lot of work, we\u2019ve done it:
\nInvestor J\u00f8rn T\u00e6kker has sold the buildings at Lausitzer Stra\u00dfe 10 and 11 to the City of Berlin. This means Lause is no longer a target for speculation!
\nRepresented by the cooperative \u201cEine f\u00fcr Alle,\u201d we\u2019ve signed a long-term lease for the next 65 years and will soon be managing the buildings ourselves.
\nWe\u2019ll share all the details about the purchase with you soon.
