This is largely entrenched by historically distinct national narratives. In contrast, we see the <strong>need for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jungewelt.de\/artikel\/379319.kunst-und-repression-die-solidarit%C3%A4t-war-wie-ein-st%C3%BCck-poesie.html\">transnational space of remembrance<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jungewelt.de\/artikel\/379319.kunst-und-repression-die-solidarit%C3%A4t-war-wie-ein-st%C3%BCck-poesie.html\">.<\/a> In this project, we aim to explore the <strong>global interconnections between history and the present<\/strong>. We are addressing <strong>students, teenagers, young and older adults, opinion leaders, museum staff, and the broader public<\/strong>. After all, examples of global connections and stories\u2014such as those of <strong>oppression and resistance<\/strong>\u2014can be found in many places! However, these histories are often not written down, or their global connections are not remembered.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is based on <a href=\"https:\/\/globalerinnern.org\/\">digital city maps<\/a> of Berlin, Bremen, Frankfurt, Kassel, Cologne, and Eberswalde, created in collaboration with local researchers and groups. For each of these cities, these maps highlight locally rooted global historical connections through:<br\/>\u2013 <strong>Biographies<\/strong> of people who played a role in the respective city<br\/>\u2013 Thematic <strong>city tours<\/strong> exploring global histories<br\/>\u2013 <strong>Events<\/strong> that illustrate connections to global history<br\/>In this way, the map fosters an <strong>awareness of international interconnectedness<\/strong> through shared, globally networked histories. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There\u2019s also an opportunity to actively participate in the project<\/strong>! The launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalerinnern.org\/\">the Global Erinnern cartography<\/a> took place on August 26, 2022, as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/documenta-fifteen.de\/en\/\">Documenta15<\/a> art fair in Kassel. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further development and translation of global history materials, such as the e-learning tool  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.connecting-the-dots.org\/\">connecting the dots. History(s) of oppression and resistance <\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educational Programs: City Tours, Workshops for Students, and Workshops for Museum Staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global Erinnern is a collaborative project of <a href=\"https:\/\/glokal.org\/en\/\">glokal e.V.<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/isdonline.de\/\">ISD-Bund e.V.<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recherche-international.de\/\">Recherche international e.V.<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/epiz-berlin.de\/\">EPIZ-Berlin e.V<\/a>.
