Over the past few months, we have worked with our partners ISD-Bund e.V. and EPIZ Berlin e.V., as well as many other experts from academia and civil society, to develop a workshop concept for high school students: “Colonialism Reloaded? The Economy Between Power and History.” Methodologically, it is based on our e-learning tool connecting the dots. History(s) of oppression and resistance .
Check out the videos in the “Colonialism Reloaded” playlist on our glokal YouTube channel:
• Fiona Faye (University of Kassel, Afrique-Europe-Interact) on colonial continuities in the economy
• Dolly Afoumba (Initiative Perspektivwechsel e.V.) on land grabbing
• Serge Palasie (Coordinator, Eine-Welt-Netzwerk NRW) on the exploitation of natural resources
• Dr. Boniface Mabanza (KASA e.V.) on asymmetries in global trade
• Dodo (activist) on the climate crisis
We were once again able to collaborate with the artist Frank Mindja, who created the drawings for us. In addition, the playlist includes 12 short biographical videos featuring anti-colonial resistance fighters, critics of neocolonial structures, and people who were actively involved in the German Empire’s colonization efforts.
