Our Educational Programs
At glokal e.V., we offer interactive and anti-discrimination educational and counseling programs that address intersectional global power and dominance structures, racism, coloniality, and social justice. Our workshops and lectures are aimed at organizations, initiatives, and individuals engaged with social inequality and structural change.
Our goal is to highlight the differences and similarities among various structures of power, domination, and exploitation, to reflect on how they are intertwined, and to jointly develop strategies for action.
We have collaborated with the following organizations, among others, in the past.
Our workshops are designed to be interactive and hands-on. They are based on methods from the anti-bias approach, social justice training, and critical education.
We support organizations and teams that want to understand and address their structures and/or processes within the workplace as they relate to various power dynamics.
Together with the booking organization—whether it’s a museum, an NGO, or a university—we analyze public relations materials or educational concepts.

Topics
Postcolonial Perspectives on “Development Policy” Issues
Analysis of the structures and content of development cooperation in the context of global injustice and the continuities of colonial power and domination structures, as well as in relation to the participants’ own environments.
Racism
Addressing racism as a societal problem and not (merely) as a problem of individual people. Its historical origins, self-reflection, and the transformation of internal organizational and societal structures.
Empowerment
A space for learning and self-empowerment for people who have experienced racism and other forms of discrimination, networking with like-minded individuals, and a shared search for ways to take action.
Critical analysis of work structures (including process facilitation)
Analysis and reflection on the everyday work environment from a postcolonial, intersectional, and critical perspective on power, racism, and domination, as well as the collaborative development of concrete courses of action for the participants.
Other Topics
Other topics can also be addressed from a postcolonial perspective that critiques power, racism, and domination, such as racism in text and visual language and climate justice.
