Webinars/Workshops 2024: Healthcare for All?! Combating Racism in the Healthcare System

To help raise awareness in the medical field, we are offering five webinars (5UE/4h each) in 2024 in German or English. Using scholarly articles and historical context, we will explore the topic in interactive webinars and workshops. The problem of the lack of discussion about racism in the healthcare sector is increasingly being highlighted by the media (ARD documentary) and research (DEZIM). Even organizations and initiatives active in development policy and medicine are not immune to this issue, and there is simply a lack of knowledge.

The goal is to collaboratively develop ideas for alternative approaches to healthcare that challenge racism and power structures in international health work. In addition, the webinars provide a foundation for examining racist and colonial continuities in global healthcare.

The target audience includes stakeholders from development policy and medical NGOs, groups, and initiatives, as well as activists working to promote global justice in the healthcare system. BIPoC and activists from migrant--led self-organizations are expressly invited.

The webinars/workshops are allocated using a solidarity-based pricing model, so that NGOs and initiatives with more limited financial resources can benefit just as much as those with greater financial means. Therefore, we have initially set a price range of €600–€800 per webinar for 5 UE/4 hours (with two glokal speakers each).
As always, our prices are negotiable. Of course, we also welcome transparent inquiries from those who would like to support our political work with a small additional contribution.
You can find more information about the project HERE. It is funded by Engagement Global and the State Office for Development Cooperation.
We look forward to receiving inquiries from interested parties via our contact form.
