“Organizing Commemoration in Solidarity” is a collaborative project of glokal e.V. and ISD-Bund e.V.
For specific initiatives, we collaborate with additional partners such as recherche international e.V. and EPIZ Berlin e.V. The project is also supported by Tahir Della, a specialist advisor on decolonization and anti-racism in development policy issues. In this project, we examine (de)colonial structures in the past and present, as well as how to shape our societal future.
The project’s objectives are:
– Raising students’ awareness of global justice and colonial continuities beyond national perspectives (student workshops 2025–2027)
– Develop materials for teachers (Global Remembrance 2026 teaching concept) and provide them with professional development (2027)
– To train development policy outreach workers to conduct workshops based on educational materials yet to be developed (outreach worker training sessions in 2025 and 2026)
– Support museum staff in incorporating global and decolonial perspectives into their day-to-day work (workshops for museum staff, 2025–2027)
– Connect multipliers (including scholars, journalists, and people involved in initiatives) and foster their exchange—at a symposium (2026) and in a digital discussion series (2027)
– To produce a project publication based on the symposium (2027)
– To offer city walking tours for interested groups (Berlin and nationwide, 2025–2027).
