In our July newsletter, we’d like to draw your attention to two opportunities outside of glokal and highlight our work over the past quarter.
1. Registration Opens for the BAG Symposium “Climate-Just Work with Girls*—Ideas for Critical Environmental Education”
Lucia Muriel will present her “KlimaDeSol” project at this exciting conference. In addition, visitors can look forward to engaging presentations, workshops, a panel discussion, a diverse program of side events, and plenty of opportunities for discussion.
Dates: September 26–28, 2022 (Program begins Monday: 2:00 p.m., & ends around 1:15 p.m.)
Participation fee: €120.00 per participant, including accommodations in a double or shared room & vegan/vegetarian meals

2. Second edition of “My World – Our Worlds” Published
In terms of content, the second edition focuses on reflecting on our own ability to truly learn from experts and activists from the Global South. It offers new perspectives, methodological suggestions, and food for thought. New additions include, for example, the following texts:

3. New glokal Project on Education to Combat Antisemitism
glokal combines education to combat racism with education to combat antisemitism: In our new project, we are expanding the scope of our timeline method and the e-learning tool “connecting the dots.” Our timeline method is being expanded to include 34 quotes and explanations. As is customary in the timeline method, we work with both perpetuating and resistant sources to highlight anti-Semitic discontinuities and continuities over the past 21 centuries. At the same time, the method is well-suited for addressing various forms and aspects of contemporary antisemitism in a practical way. The new module is available in three languages (German, English, Arabic) and can be booked immediately. It will soon be available on our website as well as digitally on the “connecting the dots” e-learning platform.
4. glokal Seminars in the Second Quarter of 2022
We would like to thank you for the numerous bookings for our educational programs in the second quarter. This has enabled many stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to benefit from our educational content that critically examines racism. We’d also like to thank you for the growing interest in our power-critical editorial services. We look forward to working with both new and familiar partners in the coming quarter.
