Our world is rife with profound and historically entrenched injustices—including in the field of health care. Power imbalances and discrimination in medicine can have life-threatening consequences. Human lives are at risk because certain groups are systematically disadvantaged. We are convinced that equitable global health care is only possible if it guarantees equal access for all, regardless of origin, gender, or social status.
That’s why….
- We raise awareness among medical and development policy professionals about the impacts of racism, sexism, and classism in global health
- We will highlight how these forms of discrimination have affected—and continue to affect—access to health care, both in the past and today
- We offer practical tools and methods to help healthcare providers work in a way that is more sensitive to issues of discrimination
- we focus on the perspectives of people from the Global South who are working to promote more equitable health care
- We use digital and interactive formats to achieve a broad and lasting impact
Our Goals:
- Raise awareness among people who work in or are involved with global health
- Teaching practical skills to reduce discrimination
- Strengthen perspectives from the Global South and highlight their contributions
- Promote more equitable health care that leaves no one behind
